The Story
"A kid from North Waziristan, fighting for Pakistan, standing on the podium in Bahrain."

Muhammad Umer Wazir, known as "Wazir," is a 17-year-old mixed martial artist from North Waziristan now training out of Islamabad. Fighting southpaw at 61kg with Passion Combat Academy, he has built a 6-2 amateur record that already includes wins over international opposition from Afghanistan and Tajikistan.

Before stepping into MMA, Umer won gold in kickboxing, the striking base that now anchors his fight game. He carried that form onto the continental stage at the Asian Youth Championships in Bahrain, where he medaled silver against the region's best.

At an age when most fighters are just starting out, Umer is already representing Pakistan internationally, with his father backing his career every step of the way.
